Facility

Training is conducted in a 1,500-square-foot facility, divided into two classrooms and a clinic, with 30 stations for cosmetology practice and 8 stations for nail technology practice, and 16 stations for Make-Up Artistry. The facility has 5 shampoo stations, 4 dryer chairs, and a dispensary area. Enrollment limitation for cosmetology is 25 students per instructor,8 for Nail Technology, and 16 for Make-Up Artistry.

Mission Statement

The mission of the school is to teach prospective students the theory and principles of Cosmetology, Nail Technology and/or Artistry in Make-Up and assist them in reaching their full potential as professionals entering into the beauty industry. Graduates of the Cosmetology program and Nail Technology program will be eligible to take the Maryland State Board of Cosmetology Exam to become a licensed professional. Graduates of the Artistry in Make-Up program will be eligible to apply for certification with the Maryland Board of Cosmetology.

Academic & School Calendar

Students may enroll by appointment with the director only. Students that are accepted, will begin in the next available class. The Institute follows the Carroll County Public School closings regarding inclement weather, and is closed on the following holidays: Memorial Day, July 4th,  Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Entrance Requirements

To be accepted into the Cosmetology and Nail programs, applicants must be:17 years of age , possess a high school diploma or GED, Our school offers the Wonderlic Admissions Test. A pass rate of at least 200 in the verbal portion and 210 in the mathematical portion of the Wonderlic Admissions Test is a requirement for those who do not possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. Evidence of these requirements will be placed in the student's file and should include: social security card, birth certificate, driver's license, a copy of any of the following: the student's high school diploma, G.E.D, or evidence of passing the Wonderlic Admissions Test. (There is a $50.00 dollar entrance exam fee payable to Madison).


Transfer of Hours


Our policy is to evaluate students with previous applicable credit hours from other schools of cosmetology to determine the transferability of those hours. The evaluation involves testing the student in theory and practical. The results of the evaluation will determine the number of applicable credit hours granted to the student. While students are under contract with Madison, we will not accept any hours earned at advanced classes or trade shows.




Schedule Options

Cosmetology:

Full Time- 1500 hours, 50 week program

30 hours per week 

Monday- Friday 9-3

Nail Technology:

Full Time- 250 hours, 8.5 week program

30 hours per week

Monday - Friday 9-3

Make-up Artistry:

Full Time- 42 hours, 7 week program

6 hours per week

Tuesday & Thursday  3-6

Frequently asked Questions:  

  1. What is the dress code?

            Solid black or white clothing, including shoes. You will recieve a school          smock, which is worn daily.

     2.   Do you accept finacial aid?

             We accept student loans and offer an interest free payment plan through the school. We accept some scholarships.

       3.   In bad wheather, do we come to school?

                We follow the Carroll County School closings for inclimate wheather.
